In the two minute video clip on the BARaki Facebook page, a Greek goodness beckons a young American man who is strolling along the Sponge Docks boardwalk alone when suddenly he sees a bright light coming from the cafe on Dodecanese Street. Once he approaches the door the goddess pulls him in and through a series of lessons teaches him how to bring out his inner Greek at this new “oasis” of Greek nightlife.
Patiently she teaches him how to pronounce Greek food words, drink an ouzo-tini, eat a gyro, and up his Greek-ness by magically giving him a boost in chest hair and a big fat gold cross neck chain to up his Greek dance game. The final touch. But not before magically refilling a bottle of ouzo that has run dry at the bar.
“Ella! We’re dancing,” she says. “Ehhh, I can’t do that, I’m not Greek,” he protests. She reassures him, “When you’re here, you are Greek.”
It’s got other Greek surprises. OPA! You can see the full trailer video here.
