Glyká Mou: 8 Unique Tampa Bay Greek Bakery Desserts to Try Right Now

Mati Donuts

Hole in One Donuts in Tarpon Springs whipped up these Mati (evil eye) donuts for a birthday party. Head into the shop and ask about them! These need to be tried by everyone.

Hole In One Donuts is located at 39024 US Hwy 19 N, Tarpon Springs

Baklava Tiramisu

Along the busy path of the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks you’ll find that the crowds aren’t too crazy at the Taste of Greece, but its menu is nearly identical to the more touristy Hellas Bakery. Stop in for this baklava tiramisu that goes perfect with Greek coffee, without the lines.

Taste of Greece is located at 709 Dodecanese Blvd, Tarpon Springs

Traditional Baklava

Although it’s served in nearly every local Greek bakery, we choose this location for baklava because it’s carefully curated in perfect squares. Many folks may not know that Greek-owned Dunedin Coffee Company & Bakery serves up occasional Greek desserts to its patrons.

Dunedin Coffee Company & Bakery is located at 730 Broadway #3, Dunedin

Nutella Waffles

Head over to Tarpon Spring’s EllasCafe & Creperie for your really sweet tooth and sink into it’s loaded belgian waffles. You can get them topped with Reeses peanut butter, nutella, caramel, and generous scoops of ice cream.

EllasCafe & Creperie is located at 39620 US hwy 19, Tarpon Springs

Bougatsa

Folks say that the bougatsa at Cafe Polis is A+. You’ll find that delicious custard sits between individually packaged crispy phyllo dough layers unlike the usual pie. Of course, with plenty of powdered sugar on top. Enjoy one at one of the outside tables at this cafe right behind St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.

Cafe Polis is located at 26 Hibiscus Street, Tarpon Springs

Karidopita

Head into Astoria Pastry Shop & Coffee in Belleaire Bluffs and you’ll find a quaint cafe with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy this Greek honey walnut cake.

Astoria Pastry Shop & Bakery is located at 560 Indian Rocks Rd N, Belleair Bluffs

Pasteli

Tucked away in Clearwater away from most of the mainstream Greek bakeries, you’ll find Manos Bakery Cafe, and it’s fresh baked bread and homemade Greek pastries including pasteli. The family still owns and runs bakeries in Greece.

Manos Bakery is located at 1971 Drew St, Clearwater

Baklava Cheesecake

Although it will be full of tourists filing in underneath it’s neon lights, we think heading over to Hellas Bakery in Tarpon Springs’ Sponge Docks for their baklava cheesecake is worth the wait in line.
